Standing up for American values

It's not unusual for we Americans to reflect on our country's values around certain holidays- 4th of July, Memorial Day, maybe Election Day. The Questionable Authority found inspiration at a most unusual time and place- a Hawaiian luau.
(T)hey close the luau by recognizing and thanking the veterans of the various wars for their service, then by recognizing those who are currently in the service. The final song is a stirring rendition of Lee Greenwood's Proud to be an American, complete with a standing audience and candles.

Usually (we've taken family to this luau a few times now) I more or less blow off the conclusion. I mean, I stand and sing with everyone else, but it isn't exactly what I'd call a thought-provoking moment. Last night was different.

Last night, I started out by thinking about what I could do to show my pride in this country, and what I could do to defend America and American Values. I tried to join the military some years back, but was medically disqualified, so that was out, but I was still feeling a bit guilty. My wife is on active duty, and does her part, but what do I do? What could I do? Then, as I thought about the last verse of the song, it came to me:

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

In a sudden moment of clarity, I realized that there was something I could do, even if it wasn't much, to do my part to defend the things that this country stands for.

I went home, went online, and joined the ACLU.

Because freedom can't protect itself.

Stupidity or Sedition?
Another thing, totally unrelated to the previous post and in a much different tone, because I’m fed up and might as well spew while I can.

I want to know something, and I am dead serious. Who the hell are these asswipes in the ACLU? Are they just stupid sheep, or are they really as malicious as they appear? Do they just give terrorists the benefit of the doubt because of some cockamamie “principle” they have, or are they just there for the purpose of sedition? I mean if there were ever a case for sedition, the ACLU and their buddies in CAIR are it. What the hell has become of this country? I can’t believe how the government has to DEFEND taking actions in DEFENSE of the people. Isn’t that the damn government’s JOB?
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
So I wanna know: are Leftards who support shit like this REALLY that naive (stupid) or are they just plain evil? Do people who support the ACLU really think their money is being spent in their best interests, rather than the best interests of terrorists?

I’m really sick and tired of STUPIDITY and SEDITION. Willfull ignorance, doublespeak, utter bullshit. These people ought to just
be kicked right out of the country, and I’m not just talking about Muslims–I’m talking about these dumb asses who support them, and the dumb asses that ALWAYS support the enemy, whomever it is (i.e. Soviets, Castro, etc.). Just leave, assholes. Your stupidity and immature “rebellion” is way past laughable; it’s just plain dangerous to everyone else. Go on and kiss the “insurgents’” and “peaceful Muslims’” asses all you want; just go do it somewhere else. You people really don’t have any idea how much these “peaceful Muslims” are bullshitting you, do you? And the ones that aren’t bullshitting and ARE decent? They aren’t real Muslims. Sure, they go to mosque, maybe read a little bit of the book–but only the parts that aren’t filled with bloodlust.

At this point, I really don’t care who I piss off. Islam is a bullshit cult of violence for power. Read the damned Koran if you don’t believe me. Read some things written by pseudo-Muslims and ex-Muslims who will tell you the truth. To one another, it’s all about jihad. To the infidel sheep, they sing a completely different tune, so as to lull you into a sense of security. It’s bullshit, and they’ve been doing exactly that since Mohammad was fucking a 9 year-old. You’re stupid if you don’t believe it, and I hate stupid. Even more, I hate dangerous stupidity. You illiberal leftards aren’t off the hook for your appeasement; they want you facing east, head-banging the floor, five times a day, too, because then THEY can control YOU.

And what the hell is THIS???
Iraq’s ministry of justice has told the BBC that six of the eight women being held by coalition forces in Iraq have been released early.

The group holding US journalist Jill Carroll has said she will die unless all Iraqi women prisoners are freed.
That bullshit had BETTER be wrong, like the typical America-bashing that the BBC vomits every day.

Y’know, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say what I really think, for once. I think–no, I KNOW–that Islam is inferior to everything, EVERYTHING. And by “inferior,” I mean illegitimate, organized crime, organized insanity, organized violence. I’m not saying ARABS, although most ARE Muslims (to varying degrees). I’m talking about African, Asian, American, converts, whatever race they are. If you are a devout Muslim, you ARE the enemy. And I don’t give a rat’s ass about your whining about “freedom of religion,” Islam is not a religion. It’s a bloodthirsty cult of organized crime. What next, the Crips will call their way of life a “religion?” Why not? What the hell’s the difference? Just drugs? Is it any mystery why prisoners choose Islam when they have their jailhouse conversions? It’s because it legitimizes violent, repugnant behavior and lifestyles. What better place to find the perfect match but prison?

Oh, but PARDON ME for passing judgment on another “culture.” Well, tough. I’m wholly unrepentant. I laugh at those who will condemn me; I don’t CARE what stupid, seditious people think about me. Might as well give up that game.

And I’ll go so far as to say this isn’t “just my opinion,” this is the truth. I dare you to read the hate-filled toilet paper that is the Koran, and explain it away. I dare you to go back through the centuries and see how it ONLY spreads through birth or malice. I dare you to take a serious, objective look at what ex-Muslims will tell you. There are tons of books out there, you know, not to mention the internets. But you know that.


Time’s up for this post; I have a doctor appointment to get to, which is just as well before I drag this out too long. Piss be upon him.

Will ANY OF YOU TAKE NOTE to THE TRUTH OF THIS WRITING & DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT??????

What a sad post from anonymous.

The ACLU exists to uphold the Constitution of the United States. When the ACLU wins a law suit, it's because the Judge or Jury agrees with their argument.

It all seems to come down to what a "true" American is. Is a true American one who believes that the
Constitution should be upheld, or is a true American one who believes that it is OK to trample on the Constitution?

The previous poster seems to believe that the ACLU are the enemy. Since all the ACLU does is request that the court system uphold the Constitution, the previous poster must believe that it is OK to trample on the Constitution.

That doesn't sound like a "true" American to me.

I fully support the ACLU, and I am neither left wing nor liberal. Idiots like the first poster make me somewhat embarrassed to be an American, but thankfully groups like the ACLU make me proud to be an American.

Without our rights and liberties, all the military machinery in the world means nothing.
